Registering With Bowler and Binnie Auctioneers

Registering with us is a simple process, all we require is a few details and proof of identity and we can then issue you with a permanent, unique paddle number. You can register with us in person at the auction house, or alternatively you can request a form to be emailed out to you.

 Registering online via easylive or Sales Room

All you need to do is lookup one of the online platforms named above on your phone, tablet or computer, search for Bowler and Binnie in the named auctions and click onto our name, then follow the online instructions. Both platforms will ask for card details for security reasons but the card will not be deducted for items you buy at Bowler and Binnie. You will be invoiced on the Monday following the sale and links to make payments will be available on your invoice. 

Buying with Bowler and Binnie

Once registered, there are several bidding options at Bowler & Binnie:

You can bid in person in our saleroom.

You can leave a commission bid. This is where we start at the cheapest point and increasing the bids within your amount dependant on auction room activity.

You can also request a phone bid if the lot is valued over £250.00. A member of staff will contact you before your lot comes up for auction and they will bid on your behalf dependant on the amount you want to bid. (Please note that if you are not a known bidder to us or one of the online selling platforms we will require a deposit to be placed before proceeding with this methods of bidding) 

Alternatively, you can bid online as above. 

 

Delivery & Clearings

We offer a house clearance, probate and valuations service if you require any of these services please email us on ([email protected]) The prices are variable dependant on time, location and service required).

 We ensure our customers are at the centre of everything we do this is reflected in our positive Google reviews. We ensure bereavement estates, valuations, probate work and house clearance services are actioned in a compassionate, empathetic  and caring way, we dovetail our approach with lawyers and solicitors giving a seamless service ensuring the customer underpins everything we do.

 

If you are not sure what will sell?

We understand it can be hard to know what we are looking for and what will sell, we ask if in doute take images of the items you might be wanting to sell and email them to us at [email protected] we will advice you within two working days on next steps. If this is difficult please email or phone for further options. 

 

What we will not sell:

We are not a general auction so we will not sell: Most modern items such as, furniture, toys, bikes, carpets/rugs, electricals, pots or pans, cookers, fridges ornaments, sofas, beds, curtains, picture or frames, prints, furs or garments.

 

What we we are looking for:

Antiques, art work by named artists, engravings, miniatures, 1st edition books and publications of interest to include comics, stamps and maps. vintage furniture, ceramics, Persian, Asian, Indian and African works of art to include figures furniture, rugs, wall hangings, silks and carpets. We are also interested in jewellery, gems, gold, silver and scrap gold and silver.

Vintage and modern motor cars, bikes and scooters, old tools, signs and train memorabilia.

Vintage garden furniture to include cast iron benches. vinal from the 60s to 00s, named stereo  systems, vintage furniture to include mid century, chesterfield sofas and furniture of equal quality, vintage toys and games to include collectable toys, vintage or collectable glass and ceramics.

We are especially interested in quirky one off items that can offer that special interest and give our auction a global focus, we will run a feature story and give zero % commission rate for the right item.

 

Bowler and Binnie Community Work and Charity.

We sponsor our local Dunfermline Swimming Club and offer a zero percent commission on any registered charity, effectively selling items offered for sale free of charge.

 

Our Costs

Bowler and Binnie offer a competitive commission rate of 20% and will offer cheaper options for large scale work and high value Items on request. Clearance, valuations and probate are all subject to individual pricing in terms of time amount and scale.
